Dancey Dance Time

We have a fairly good routine of kitchen dancing after dinner. Most nights we turn on some music and Jason and I dance with the girls in the kitchen. This is typical Elsa dancing.

This is Inga's dance class. Yes, there are two teachers and two students. The class was small to start with and a couple have dropped out due to lack of bravery. The class has since joined the Friday night class and now has a lot more girls in it. Inga is still adjusting to the larger number of students so we'll have to wait a while until we get more video of her dancing!

New Year's Eve 2009

For the seventh year in a row, we met up with Jason and Amy Haag (along with Addison and Gable) to ring in the new year. We were again joined by Nick and Anne Ironside (and Brogan) this year who were with us last year. I guess it's becoming a tradition! It's always so fun to see how the kids are growing and to see how the group grows each year. The kids had so much fun running, playing, and eating. The adults just enjoyed chatting and playing games. Adult interaction is always fun!

By the way, if you go back to January of last year you can see pictures from our New Year's gathering and compare how the kids looked then and now!

Christmas 2009

We had a very good Christmas this year. The girls we so excited about all their gifts and now understand Santa Claus. We did our best to explain baby Jesus and why we celebrate Christmas. I suppose more understanding of that will come.

Opening gifts at Nana and Poppa's house.

Mark, Stephanie, and Dustin...we were just missing Kerry and Louis.

Inga in her Christmas pajamas.

Elsa in hers...ready to go home and prepare for Santa's arrival!

Christmas day at Grandma & Grandpa Humpal's house. The girls were very interested in the Christmas village.

I want to touch it!

Taking it all in.

I did nothing wrong!

Elsa's First Sledding Excursion

After our first big snow Elsa was finally taken out to sled in the backyard. Both girls loved being out in the snow. Elsa is a bit more dainty about it than Inga. After Inga's first fall into the snow she got up and laughed. Elsa, however, simply enjoyed looking at it and riding in the sled. She didn't like the cold of it as much.

Happy after a run down the hill.

Sledding with Emma.

At the top of the hill.

Being pulled through the yard.

Inga following Elsa on the sled to make sure she was taken care of...what a great big sister!

The Girls

It's been a while since our last post so I decided to post a selection of pictures from the last month or so of the fun we've had around the house. The girls are growing so fast and we have a lot of fun watching them grow and play. They make us so very happy!

Elsa's self-chosen attire.

Inga decided nap time was going to be on the floor one afternoon.

Inga did her own hair and told me she was ready to go!

Watching TV with hats on! The beret that Elsa is wearing was made by my Grandma Lane way back when. Seeing Elsa wearing it makes me miss her! More than anything I wish the girls would have been able to know their great-grandparents.

Posing for the camera...

Inga's turn!

Time for dessert!

Family Photos

Jason and I realized that we hadn't had a family photo taken since Elsa was born so we decided that now would be a great time! Unfortunately Elsa didn't agree with the rest of the family. Inga was very happy to be at the studio but Elsa was a little suspicious. We didn't get her to smile in any of the pictures but we were still happy to take her home with us.

Play Time

The girls have loved playing together in the ball pit. Unfortunately somewhere along the way we developed a hole in the indoor swimming pool turned ball pit. I guess we'll have to wait until next summer to reincarnate the pool! By the way, Inga likes to choose her own outfits these days so don't be surprised by what you see!

A very happy Elsa.

And a little smirk.
